Deradicalizing AM radio one call at a time [1]

Hey everyone. For the past five years, and further inspired in HUGE way by the end of season 1, I’ve been establishing and expanding a presence in local right wing talk station 94.9 News Now and Stimulating Talk. I’ve spoken as both a caller and an in studio guest on countless occasions to talk about the failures of conservatism, why I became a leftist and more specifically an anarchist, the lies about “antifa” and the cop city fight.

I’ve made a lot of friends through the station and I’ve at least locally broken the homogeneity of the most prominent conservative talk station in my state. People who would have NEVER heard about stuff from our side got the chance to decide for themselves what they actually believe. And a shocking amount of them have distanced themselves from conservatism. Some even now identify as anarchists.

I’m a major believer in this sort of activism, especially for people like me who have VERY minimal opportunities for in person activism lately.

I’m currently in round 2 group A of their king of callers competition. If I get first or second in this round I advance to the final round. The last person to win this competition ten years ago got his own show and that is a likely prize this year as well.

Several hosts on the station have already expressed a desire to have me as a host.

The conservative media apparatus spends so much time and effort on its project because it works. I think there’s a lot of value in people working to jam this apparatus and subvert it however possible.

My entry for this round is a challenge to the listeners to stand with the defenders of the Atlanta forest if they claim to dislike tyranny.
