Harris Poll Including a lot on Israel/Gaza [1]

I haven’t finished reading the results, and I really miss the cross tabs which they only give for age. Most of the polling lands about where you might think. Anonymous polling allows people to more freely give their opinion and it’s not always kind. Notice in the above screenshot more than half of 18 to 24 year olds believe Hamas was justified.

Most think college students who condoned terrorism shouldn’t be penalized in future employment. There is much more there about the issue than I’ve bothered to read.

I like polls. I read them for what they are. A reflection at a particular time of what the people answering thought. I’m more interested in the cross tabs, such as working class minorities or independent voters, segments that are crucial to winning the general election. At least this poll does do, “what’s your most important issue”

Inflation is killer. The part that bothers people is unsolvable, it already happened, prices rose since 2020 and they won’t go back.

At #2 immigration is also a strong negative for our party and it’s been creeping up on these type of questionnaires. I’d call it a self inflicted wound.

The bright spot for me is that Climate is being mentioned more and more. You used to see climate getting 2% of attention and now it is mentioned much more, often breaking double digits.

The head to head is concerning, but I just don’t think Trump will be around. I hope. Too much baggage. Still, it is concerning. The electorate is very unhappy with the choices.
