Biden just callously dismissed that Israeli collective punishment is killing large numbers in Gaza [1]

As a stanch Biden supporter I find President Biden’s dismissal of the violence being inflicted on civilians in Gaza to be disingenious, and disconcerting.

When asked about Israeli indiscriminate bombing of noncombatants in Gaza President Biden just callously dismissed that Israeli collective punishment is killing large numbers of Palestinians in Gaza.

PBS reporter Laura Barrón-López asked President Biden this question at the 24 minute mark:

Laura Barrón-López: In the 18 days since Hamas killed 1,400 Israelis, the Hamas controlled Gaza Health Ministry says Israeli forces have killed over 6,000 Palestinians including 2,700 children. You’ve previously asked Netanyahu to minimize civilian casualties. Do these numbers say to you

President Biden: When they say to me is I have no notion that the Palestinians are telling the truth about how many people are killed. I'm sure innocents have been killed and it's the price of waging a war. I think we should be incredibly careful. I think not, we Israelis should be incredibly careful to be sure that they're focusing on going after the folks that are propagating this war against Israel and uh and it's against their interest when that doesn't happen. But I have no confidence in the number that the Palestinians are using.

The precise number of children slaughtered isn’t as important as that FACT that the Israeli IDF is killing shocking numbers of noncombatants including many children, with their indiscriminate, intensive bombardment of Gaza.

More than 400 children are reportedly either killed or injured daily in the besieged Palestinian enclave, it said.

President Biden seems out of touch with the savagery that Israel is assaulting noncombatants in Gaza over the past 17 days. I suspect he does know better.

Israel has legitimate security concerns, but that doesn’t entitle them to inflict collective punishment on 2.1 million Palestinians in Gaza.

As awful and bloody as the Hamas attack on southern Israel was, two Wrongs won’t make a Right.
