Street Prophets Friday: Krakow, Poland (photo diary) [1]

Greetings!

Krakow

After spending our morning in a nearby salt mine and eating lunch in the parking lot, we drove into Krakow and began exploring this gorgeous city from Wolnica Square

We walked to the base of the castle. And because our group was just in town for a few short hours and some of us were moving too slowly, #1 Son took off to explore by himself. I lasted another 4 minutes before I stormed the castle. Then the ladies left the group after deciding that they'd rather take things at their own slow pace.

I think the main group still hadn't crossed the street when I was half way up the road into the castle.

That little cluster of people seen between the sightseeing cars— they're not even looking at the castle!

Hey! look over here!

Good planning. When planning the toilets on your tower, remember to offset them to each other so that one doesn't crap on the downstairs neighbor's toilet’s roof.

We all passed through the castle relatively quickly. I believe the ladies paid the entrance fee to see the castle gardens.

We only had a few hours. I went down another stairway and into the streets and gardens around the buildings of the university.

There's a lovely, wooded park that stretches in a grand arc through the city. It marks the place where the old town's fortifications once stood.

I followed the park around the old historic center of the city and stepped out to explore whenever something caught my eye through the trees.

And as I was taking that picture— #1 Son walked up behind me! The last hour or so of our tour of Krakow we explored the city together before meeting the whole group for dinner (pierogi— of course!) and to share tales of our adventures.
