Israel’s War Cabinet assumes that invading Gaza will defeat Hamas. What lunacy! The Hamas leaders have already left Gaza. People who kill old women and children don’t lead from the front. Hamas is hoping that Israel destroys Gaza. Israel’s invasion of Gaza may placate the right wing in Israel. It will do nothing else. Every old woman and child that Israel kills in Gaza will only create more Hamas supporters.

The only way to defeat Hamas is to convince them that their goal, the destruction of Israel, cannot be achieved. Israel's main focus needs to be to resurrect the deal with Saudi Arabia that has now been suspended. Get it back on track. Israel's future will be assured. Hamas will lose its reason for existence.

Israel needs to focus on the deal with Saudi Arabia and limit the carnage in Gaza before it becomes Hamas.
