The war in Ukraine continues to prove the old saying about necessity being the mother of invention. Ukraine needs more air defense and has these old Russian Buk launchers first developed in the Soviet era. So now they are being modified to use American-made RIM-7 Sea Sparrow missiles.

The situation on the left bank of the Dnipro River near Kherson continues to be rather confusing. But this thread claims that Ukraine has established a foothold in the village of Krynky.

On October 14, a massive attack on Russian positions began. I want to note that it was a very unexpected surprise for the Russians. At 6:00 a.m., soldiers started assault on the village Krynky, the Russians did not expect this and paid for it, 4 invaders who were having breakfast were killed immediately. The rest of Russians ~25 ran into the forest near village. They were later sent by the Russian command together with “special assaulters” to retake the village back but it was not successful and those assault group were destroyed during this assault TWO Russian soldiers surrendered without firing any single shot.

Russia is approaching another milestone — 300k dead soldiers.

Folks assume this number is exaggerated at least a little because it is reported by Ukraine. There is really no way of knowing the exact number.

Ukraine is reportedly counter-attacking on the northern flank at Avdiivka. But like everything else, the fog of war will have to lift some to confirm this.

Mob rule broke out in Dagestan, which is a Russian-governed republic north of Azerbaijan in the North Caucasus. Russian troops eventually broke up the mob at the airport and made arrests. I have not seen any reports yet on whether anyone was hurt.

The Raccoon that the Russians stole from the zoo in Kherson has been stolen again.
