Collapse of the 'Biden 2024 Muslim American Vote' [1]

Yes you read it right, it is not an exaggeration, it's not hyperbolic, it's not emotional and it's not temporary. The signs were there, the support was weaning off with the GWOT and Trump’s rhetoric in the rearview mirror for some time, not the focus of ongoing news media has always been considered a good sign for most Muslim Americans. It was a shattery support base for the last several months, economy of course drives most voting attitudes for immigrants and minorities unless, well unless someone is threatening to deport you illegally or ban the religion you believe in. Then it becomes really personal, then you see folks getting involved, building coalitions, support and reach out to other communities who you considered as outsiders or not sharing the same belief system. The shared view of an American dream, an America that stands up for the right, takes care of its own and feels empathy for all.

That was October the 6th, today as we stand seeing the mass murder of Palestinian’s touching 10,000 humans, the vast majority of them being children, women and elderly paid for by American taxpayers, driven by our foreign policy objectives and yes authorized, supported and cheered on by Joe Biden and his White house. Narrating IDF’s talking point from the White House press briefing room as an official policy statement, parroting fabricated accusations being thrown out by Netanyahu’s propaganda center known as IDF’s spokesperson’s office has all the hallmark of “Weapons of Mass Destruction” fiasco all over again. The difference being, after having lived through almost two decades of this approach, most Muslim Americans are now much more engaged to feel helpless, and not hesitating to engage with their local representatives including the impact on Presidency. They are speaking up, even if their voices are being drowned out on mainstream media outlets or whatever is left of them. It was horrific to see “Meet the press” host just read off a list of Israeli defense forces talking points as genuine questions to Congresswoman Jayapal. How insulting to the intellect of her audience, when most first generation Muslim Americans have absolutely switched to Al-Jazeera English for their main source in addition to the horrific, brutal, uncomment-able images and videos making their way through the social media apps. It is a sad day when clips of MSNBC are making a round around the world and landing back in our messaging apps here in US as reflection of “absolutely demonic blood thirst” of the Americans at large. Yes MSNBC, don’t even bother going to CNN and Fox News. This is where things stand.

Now to the ‘collapse’ or the title of my diary, when I thought I would just share a few numbers and couldn't stop sharing the full picture and emotions. As of today, Joe Biden has as much an approval rating among American Muslims as George W Bush did on the eve of Iraq war, you think I am exaggerating? don’t think I have words to describe the messages I am seeing. “Not my president”, “Not in my name” are just the kind ones. Its quite simple, you wouldn't find any first generation Muslim American right now who can state out loudly that they will vote for Joe Biden again. People are going to confessionals for their vote back in 2020. No, they will not vote for Trump or DeSantis, who want to draw a gallon of blood as a response to a drop of blood. But all you need is a few thousand voters not to show up in Michigan, Arizona and Wisconsin suburbs and that’s the election. A large chunk of this loss of support is permanent(ish..) and is not coming back till the 2026 cycle. Democratic Party folks in Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona will be well served to street test this update.
