Ghana- Emergency- This Time I am Asking for Help [1]

Alright a situation has developed with John in Ghana. I had told myself I wouldn’t ask for help here again but this is so serious I really have no choice.

Labour is the seventeen year old Nigerian girl who has been living homeless on the beach in Accra. She was nine months pregnant when she came to John asking for help. He promised to do what he could and when the time came he took her in to the hospital where the baby was born.

She was to be release this morning but when John went to pay the bill the hospital informed her that they had had to give her an operation so that the baby could be delivered and that she needed another operation urgently. Also she has no health insurance so they were demanding the full amount.

If Africa this no joke. They will not release her until the bill is paid. Also because John signed for her he is legally responsible. He could go to jail if it is not paid. This has happened to people I know.

The amount needed is about $300. I know that isn’t much but I have 15 dollars to get me through until Friday. I just don’t have anything close to $300.

So I am asking for help. I am sorry to do it but I don’t see any choice.

I hope those who have been following my diaries over the past year or so will accept that this is not one of those African scams. John has carefully documented everything we have done together and he has sent me this morning the number of the hospital where the girl is being held.

I have set up a GoFundMe but it usually takes about three days for the money donated there to be available. That is better than nothing, tho.

I could accept money to my PayPal but if any kind person wishes to do that I ask that you send me a kosmail and ask for the name there. I don’t feel comfortable posting that publicly.

I know this is a small amount but it is desperately needed to save a life and to keep John from jail
