Global Class Action Agreed to at the Heritage & Reconquest Int'l Press Conference held by SOAD [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-10-30 What does one do when everything you have known is gone? What does one do when a Nation’s language, culture, land, and religion are destroyed by conquering forces? How do you go about rebuilding all that was lost as one entity? The answer is simple- one sole entity cannot. What one must do is begin to reach out to other Indigenous Nations/Tribes to restore ancient treaties, rebuild the trade routes, and join with other Peoples who are trying to find the path to reclaiming what was stolen from them. Long before Columbus became lost and landed in North America, there had been great Kingdoms in what is now known as North America, Mexico, and South America. Kingdoms existed in Hawaii and throughout Polynesia. There were trade routes between Japan eastward to Hawaii and Hawaii to California. There were treaties and trade routes between the Americas and Canada. There were trade routes from the Eastern Shores of the Americas to the Kingdoms in Africa. There were trade routes used by the Vikings to what is now known as Mexico and North America. Before the Europeans came and stole ancient artifacts, artworks, committed genocide, burnt ancient records, and destroyed all that had existed, the Kingdoms of the Indigenous Peoples knew of other kingdoms and empires throughout the world. Today, many of the Indigenous peoples are beginning to restore the Federations between Nations, writing new treaties, and re-establishing lost trade routes. Nations have joined together to help rebuild cultures, languages, and religions. The One entity becomes a Federation and a voice of many. The Federation of Aboriginal Nations of the Americas(FANA) is one such Federation comprised of first contact tribes throughout the East Coast of North America. Over the past few years, FANA has re-established Treaties and Contracts with Hawaii, Polynesia, Canada, South America, Central America, Mexico, and Africa. On October 25, 2023, I attended a press conference hosted by an ally of FANA’s, The State of the African Diaspora (SOAD). It was a historical and unprecedented conference as twelve other African Nations requested to be a part of SOAD’s global class action. These joined Indigenous Nations and Tribes requested that SOAD represent them in helping to regain the artifacts, human remains, and ancestral lands lost from Colonization. Prime Minister Dr. Louis–Georges Tin of SOAD was the moderator. Other members of SOAD who were present for the press conference were Keturah Amoako, Queen Houindokon, who is the Vice Prime Minister (SOAD) and Chairperson of the International Commission for Heritage and Culture; and Mr. Brice Nzamba, who is SOAD’s lawyer. There were representatives from The Republic of The Congo, Benin, Madagascar, Gabon, Tchad, The Republic of Guinee, Liberia, Uganda, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Ethiopia, and Angola. They would join with the Indigenous nations/tribes of North America currently working with SOAD. Each Nation/kingdom/Tribe was joined together by a common denominator, their strong desire to reconquest their ancestral lands, artifacts, artworks, and human remains. At this moment, the member Nations/Tribes of FANA, along with His Excellency Chief Chasinghorse of the Lakota Oyate Nation, have joined the class action. Each representative of the Kingdoms/Nations/Tribes spoke about what they hoped to be able to retrieve from Governments, churches, museums, private collections, and Universities. The Director of FANA, Neesu Wushuwunoag (Raymond TwoHawks Watson) expressed his gratitude that SOAD was going to be representing the FANA chiefs in the return of artifacts, restitution, and lands. He also introduced FANA’s Minister of International Affairs and Ambassador to the UN, Dr. Ronald Yonaguska Holloway, FANA Tribal member Sagamore William Guy, FANA Tribal Member Principal Chief Tureygua Taino Cay, and let it be recorded that there were other Chiefs and members of FANA present at the conference. As part of his presentation, Chief Neesu Wushuwunoag used slides to show what the United States had done to their ancestral lands. I would like to acknowledge the reality that The SOAD has been very successful in reclaiming lost artifacts, human remains, artworks, and land that had been stolen from its member nations. Because of its success, SOAD began to reach out to other Indigenous Nations/Tribes to do a class action. Once all entities decided to carry out the class action, it was announced that the first step would be to open diplomatic channels. Allow me to quote some of what was stated. “…Countries such as UK, France, Belgium, Germany, Portugal, Switzerland, and the United States shall have two months to respond to the submissions for restitution. Should a response or acknowledgment not be received within the timeframe, the matter will then proceed to a legal class action…” Each of the participating parties was asked to submit what they wanted to reconquest be it land, restitution, artifacts, artworks, and human remains. This action will have a global effect and people need to be educated that history did not begin with the European “discoveries” and conquests. History began thousands of years ago, long before the Europeans knew how to sail, or there were Greek and Roman empires. History began with the Indigenous people of ancient worlds changed forever because of colonization.
