Top Comments: Got Any Milestones? Edition [1]

Over the years, I’ve shared many of the milestones of life here at Casa Brillig. My diary/story history chronicles so many moments it’s truly a record of our lives. I first mentioned my eldest in my VERY FIRST Top Comments diary, way back when she was simply Kid Brillig. You were also here when I announced the news we had a son, and then when we travelled to Ethiopia to bring him home.

You’ve been here through swim meets, soccer matches, adventures on vacation and more. As they got older, I shared less, even though I could NOT miss announcing K1’s Master's degree back in 2022 because of COURSE I’d let you all know when she chose her college acceptance.

Into that rich and storied history, I get to share the latest milestone here at Casa Brillig: About four hours ago, K2 (remember him, the little four year old who arrived home to the US to his first snowfall what feels like last year, but was really back in 2009?) submitted his first college application. He’s been exploring his options for finding a school where he’ll be able to continue playing soccer, but he’s focused on finding one with the right academic fit too. There will be more submitted applications in his future, but this was the last first one for Mr. Brillig and I.

We also had another first recently… our busy school counselor eldest and her significant other asked if they could take US out to dinner sometime soon. They have a number of restaurants they’ve found and enjoyed that we’ve never been to, and they’d like to share them with us. As one child edges into adulthood, it’s so wonderful to see our other successfully enjoying hers!
