Happy Halloween! From Anabel in Ghana [1]

Since this is Halloween I just wanted to share this photo John in Ghana sent me of four year old Anabel, the homeless orphan he has been caring for since her mother abandoned her about a year ago. Thanks to the help of some very kind donors, we have been paying for Anabel to stay in a care center and just recently she started school, a big step in a little girl’s life.

Anabel looks so grown up and serious in this photo I didn’t even recognize her. She has really grown! She is already showing the intelligent, beautiful woman she will someday become.

And also she’s wearing Halloween colors! Though I think that’s just a coincidence.

The change from the earliest photos of a worried, suspicious toddler dressed in rags and mismatched shoes is just incredible. Our little girl is growing up.

I just thought everyone would like to see that sometimes good things do happen.
