More Russian stuff blowing up: Ukraine counterattacks at Krasnohorivka [1]

The battle for the slag heap north of Avdiivka goes on. Control of the big pile of coal waste is no longer with Russia, but the Russians continue to throw everything they have into the fight.

Russia is determined to take Avdiivka and keeps throwing reserves into the battle. Ukraine has also diverted more troops to the area, moving them from the Robotyne front, indicating that the counter-offensive there is on pause.

North of Avdiivka: Ukraine is apparently counter-attacking north of Krasnohorivka. This is a town just north of the Terrikon, the big slag heap. If Ukraine manages to gain ground there, it would threaten to cut off the Russian forces that have been attacking west and southwest of Krasnohorivka.

Ukraine’s missile attack on the command post of Russia’s Dnepr army group may have been an attempt to take out its newly appointed commander.

This general, who comes from VDV, appears to be highly esteemed by Russian servicemen. Personally, I always take info from this channel with a big grain of salt, but they were right on several occasions. I would not be surprised if Teplinsky appears on some TV program in Russia in the next few weeks, looking healthy. But if this information is true, and Teplinsky is knocked out in some capacity, it would be a big win for Ukraine.

There has been a lot of excitement over at the Kerch bridge, but where there is smoke there is not necessarily fire. This could be nervous Russians trying to screen the bridge from a perceived attack or just an exercise. If the smoke had been from explosions, it would have been black instead of white.

There is no word on whether Ukraine actually tried to attack the bridge.

Yesterday, a criminal complaint was unsealed, and a Brooklyn, New York, resident and two Canadian nationals were arrested in connection with a sophisticated global procurement scheme in which the defendants used two corporate entities registered in Brooklyn to unlawfully source and purchase millions of dollars’ worth of dual-use electronics on behalf of end-users in Russia, including companies affiliated with the Russian military. Some of the electronic components and integrated circuits shipped by the defendants are the same make, model, and part number that have been found in seized Russian weapons platforms and signals intelligence equipment in Ukraine.
