Let's stop pretending Tuberville gives a damn about travel for reproductive health services. [1]

Tommy Tuberville was a stupid college football coach. Apparently that makes him worthy of tfg’s endorsement and a precious U.S. Senate seat. Thanks, Alabama voters. Would’ve been nice to have Doug Jones for another six years.

Actually tfg’s endorsement was more likely the result of Tommy Tub promising him to do everything he can to leave open high-ranking military positions, along with anything else borne out of fealty to trump, or maybe just a little good ol’ fashion kompromat.

Holding up military promotions because of personal religious beliefs? I’m guessing the only deeply held religious belief that Coach Tuberville holds is that one should pray on fourth and one, down six points with the ball at midfield and one minute left on the game clock. It’s all a stinky red herring.

Now I know I may be accused of CT, but this shit looks pretty damn clear to me. If he retakes office, the orange menace wants to promote officers that he knows are full-on MAGA or at least MAGA-ish if that’s the best he can do. Like, instead of Colonel X being promoted to Brigadier, Trump will demand Major MAGA Z will instead get that appointment.

Here’s an interesting bit from an AP article dated July 14 of this year…

Democrats have repeatedly gone to the Senate floor to try and call up the nominations. But Tuberville has objected each time. Tuberville says he won’t drop the holds until there is a vote on the Pentagon policy. But he hasn’t introduced legislation to overturn it and insists that debate on amendments to change the policy wouldn’t count.

He has no intention of actually challenging the policy he claims to be against. It’s an excuse to keep as many officer corps positions open so that fascist piece of dung can put enough officers in place to have the ability to use the US military for his every personal whim internationally, and of course to severely and summarily punish his domestic enemies. Like BLM and “Antifa”. And since I’m ruminating on this now, that is what I imagine. The reality is likely much, much worse.

Let’s hope, as they appear to be trying, the Senate will push through the highest level promotions and very hopefully successfully suspend the rules to make his entire gambit moot.

It’ll be like getting stuffed on fourth and one, down six points with the ball at midfield and one minute left on the game clock, Tommy.
