How a Conflict is Framed Matters [1]

Although Lady Justice is blindfolded to represent her impartial focus on the facts, unmoved by prejudice, to achieve a just outcome, how the facts are framed matters. The barrage of brutal images and rival discourses about the Israel-Hamas conflict have attacked our senses of late. In my quest to understand these narratives, I happened upon an interview of documentary filmmaker, Michael Moore on al Jazeera’s, UpFront, titled “We need to stop the slaughter.” www.aljazeera.com/…

The interview led me to focus on another of Lady Justice’s implements, the double-edged sword held in her left hand which is unfortunately cropped out of the image above. It signifies that justice can cut both ways once all the evidence is weighed.
