Hospital Ships & Field Hospitals for Gaza [1]

Help is on the way for the hospital patients in Gaza. Hospital ships are coming. Field hospitals are being set up.

HOSPITAL SHIPS and FIELD HOSPITALS

On October 26 Israel asked foreign countries to send hospital ships to help take care of patients in Gaza’s hospitals who can reach Egypt.

Some countries have responded.

France is sending a hospital ship that is due to arrive off Northern Sinai this Thursday.

Italy is sending a hospital ship that is due to depart Italy this Wednesday.

Indonesia is getting a hospital ship ready to send.

Germany appears to be dithering……...

Turkey sent the equipment needed for Egypt to set up a field hospital per a November 10 Reuters article.

The UAE (United Arab Emirates — Abu Dhabi, Dubai, plus 5 less well known kingdoms) — is setting up a field hospital in Gaza.

Jordan has a field hospital in southern Gaza. They resupplied it from the air on November 6.

Egypt is setting up a field hospital in the northern Sinai. And, Egypt will likely be the main point of entry for hospital patients.

And, the United States — where is the United States ? The United States has at least two Navy hospital ships with 1,000 beds each — enough for 1 large hospital plus a few smaller ones. In a State Department briefing on November 9, the U.S. Special Envoy for Middle East Humanitarian Issues, David Satterfield, was asked about the US supplying hospital ships. He gave a two paragraph answer talking about the situation, but never answered the question.

(Somehow this positive news about how other countries are helping the people of Gaza got lost among all the negative news from Gaza.)
