[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-11-16 This post is basically to help me, and anybody else that is confused. I have seen several articles, both on DailyKos and on other sites that seem to give different stories about what the continuing resolution that has been passed by congress (both houses) and has gone to get signed off by Biden actually says. www.cnn.com/… “The two-step plan extends funding until January 19 for priorities including military construction, veterans affairs, transportation, housing and the Energy Department. The rest of the government — anything not covered by the first step — would be funded until February 2.” What I get from this is, however, it happened, the departments of transportation, housing and energy and of Military construction will expire on Jan 19 with the rest of it expiring on Feb 2nd. I have to plead ignorance as to whether Military Construction is a part of the Defense Department or a separate department. Then there was this article: www.govexec.com/... “Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, Energy, Veterans Affairs and Agriculture and would run through Jan. 19” With the rest of the budget coming due on Feb 2nd. This is obviously a different list. Not totally, but instead of “military construction” there is Agriculture. Finally, I saw something where it looked like the IRS was going to lose some of the money, maybe most of it, that had allocated for more staff so that they could do more audits, but also have more people to actually process the returns. That is needed because I can tell that 2021 took forever for me to get my return validated and the refund received and it was a simple return with the standard deduction. There was also a phrase about 15 percent loss on every thing. But then we have till Feb 2nd to work all that out, and who knows what will happen. I would like to truly understand what has been established and with two different views, it is confusing. Today we had an article here on Daily Kos that said that the things for We the People are first in the two tiers, although the Republicans wanted the opposite, I am just not sure that is really the case reading the other outside articles. www.dailykos.com/...
