[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-11-19 When one of the leading armament suppliers to Israel is unable to attest that they are not committing war crimes, it should give all pause. After all, others will make them complicit. Admin does not deny Israel committing war crimes. Watch Politics Done Right T.V. here. x Embedded Content Podcasts (Video — Audio) The interview between Deputy National Security Advisor Jon Finer and Meet The Press’ Kristen Welker. That he is unable to assert that Israel is not committing war crimes or that they are unable to demand that they don’t is more than concerning. It proves an old claim by Netanyahu, who once said, “I know what America is. America is a thing you can move very easily; move it in the right direction. They won’t get in the way.” The video points out the following: Graphic Descriptions of Violence in Gaza: The video clip begins with vivid and disturbing descriptions of the violence in Gaza, including dead bodies, mutilated children, and widespread bloodshed. This portrayal emphasizes the human cost of the conflict, moving beyond political and strategic considerations to focus on the suffering of individuals. Critique of Indiscriminate Warfare and Funding Responsibilities: The nature of modern warfare, particularly the use of weapons of mass destruction, and the role of countries that fund these activities are criticized. Funders, like the United States, should demand adherence to international laws of war and prevent atrocities. Questioning Israel's Compliance with International Law: The central issue raised is whether Israel is adhering to international law in its actions in Gaza. The inability of a U.S. government official, Jon Finer, to affirmatively answer this question is particularly telling. This segment underscores concerns about the legality and morality of Israel's military actions. Comparison Between Hamas and Israel's Actions: While acknowledging the terrorist attack by Hamas against Israel, it is clear that Israel, as a democratic state, should be held to a higher standard. The extent of death and destruction caused by Israel is disproportionately greater than that caused by Hamas, which leads to questions about the character and intentions of the Israeli leadership. Allegations of Genocide and Broader Implications: The video clip concludes that, by definition, the situation in Gaza is genocide, a term loaded with legal and moral implications. One must strongly push back against any claims that criticism of Israel's actions and the honest description of its actions against the civilian Gazan population are inherently anti-Semitic. The fact that many Israeli & Jewish groups and individuals are also condemning these actions is probative. The focus is on the forced mobilization and attack on civilians and the potential ulterior motives behind the conflict. This surely sets the stage for further investigation and discussion. America would do well to reconsider its love affair with the Netanyahu government. We will suffer the blowback from Netanyahu’s IDF’s savagery that seems no different than Hamas’.
