Then, on the rest of the menu, frazzled parents are celebrating that schools in Portland, Oregon, reached a tentative deal with the teachers union after a nearly month-long strike; authorities evacuated over several hundred people after a petroleum refinery explosion near Detroit; and, a federal appeals court ruled Georgia can keep statewide elections for its five-member commission regulating utilities, overturning an earlier ruling that statewide elections illegally diluted Black votes.

After the break, we move to the Chef’s Table where Russia put Meta communications director Andy Stone on its terrorist watch list; and, the prime minister of Ireland condemned anti-immigrant protesters who rampaged through central Dublin.
