CNN’s Nima Elbagir has produced a report about the abuses of Palestinian children by Israel’s occupation authority through the use of the Administrative Detention instrument. Held for years without charge, without access to an attorney or trial and forced to append their names on confession documents written in the Hebrew language which they do not understand, these children were as young as 13 when incarcerated. Roughly 500-700 children yearly have experienced this horror since 2008. www.dci-palestine.org/...One especially heartbreaking case is that of the boy Manasra, who at age 13 was found not guilty by an Israeli court of stabbing two Israeli settlers, but was still sentenced to 9 years and 5 months of time in the military prison. This minor has spent his time in solitary confinement since 2021 and developed acute psychosis and is now a harm to himself. His case has been referred by Amnesty International to the International Criminal Court. www.amnesty.org/…This is what life is like without due process in the OT administered by Israel’s “iron hand of justice.” Forget about the presumption of innocence, or any of the freedoms and rights that we take for granted guaranteed in our Constitution—those clauses that make democracy meaningful and substantive.

Likud regime apologists claim that the US has shared values with that government, “the bastion of democracy in the Middle East,” and thus should continue its unfettered military aid of that government. Really?
