[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-12-03 I am running late. I found way too many songs worth posting. We will see how this turns out. Here is the link to the list of songs I looked at to build this diary: en.wikipedia.org/… And away we go! Sara Bareilles, at number 96: I like the message in this song and in the video. Ordinary people, regular folks, we all have potential. That is a truly uplifting message, seems to me. Miranda Lambert, at number 89: I do not even care about the drama expressed in the lyrics. Musically, this is truly great pop, country, hillbilly, whatever, I truly savor it! Hunter Hayes, at number 72: Okay, this one made me cry. Crazy. My first wife, Pam, was born disabled. Pretty crazy for a young man to marry a quadriplegic! My second wife, Tonia, was a bold Black woman. Another crazy marriage! I like crazy. I do. (Pam died in 2008. Tonia died on the 10th of March, 2022.) PSY, at number 55: I posted this last week, but we need more of that Gangnam style! Yes! Darius Rucker, at number 54: Just in case you ever had any doubts about the ability of certain Black Americans to give us great, down home, country music: There you go. (Remember, my second wife, Tonia, was a Black woman.) Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, featuring Mary Lambert, at number 43: I remember that song, from years ago. It has a very worthwhile message, and the performance is still musically smooth and nice. Awolnation, at number 25: I do not understand this song, but I do not care. It is so truly unusual, in so many ways. This was truly a part of those times, 2013 and a little after, when I heard this song. Anna Kendrick, at number 21: I thought that was an old country folk song, but I tried to look it up, and I did not find it that way. I like the video, in a low budget diner. I like that. Here is the song mentioned in the title of that one: Fun! Katy Perry, at number 10: My wife, Tonia, had me listening to a lot of Katy Perry songs, in the last few years before she died. So this one is already and old friend. And I like the message: A woman can take charge of her life. Bruno Mars, at number 8: This song makes me cry, because, even though I did a lot for Pam, and I did a lot for Tonia, I could have done more. I could have done more. Imagine Dragons, at number 3: That video is way too silly, with plush toys fighting each other. But the song is so powerful. I truly enjoy it. Robin Thicke, featuring T. I. and Pharrell Williams, at number 2: This song took the place of Gangnam Style, as the biggest hit of the year, for me. Of course, we can listen to both, over and over. Ha! Okay, here is the link to the list again: en.wikipedia.org/… Post more songs in the comments, if you like. Hugs!
