Daily Bucket - Different small visitors [1]

This is a “filler” diary to show some of the variety of birds visiting my make shift feeding station. I make small piles of sunflower seeds in my driveway during the winter months. I get many regulars but that activity draws onlookers. The surrounding Oak trees provide “stadium seating” and snacks. Here are some of the photos from last month.

Nov. 22nd, “ButterButt” aka, non breeding Yellow-rumped Warbler female

All this activity happens around the presence of the neighbor’s cat “Sissy”. She loves to disrupt feeding schedules when she is not busy grooming (which is often enough that the birds are well fed).

There was this one spot that needed attention.

Squirrel watching to see if the cat has moved.

I hope these photos bring a smile to you and let you know the world keeps on revolving even when the media has foreboding news.

I got an email from a reviewer at eBird concerning one of my submissions. I had labelled this bird as a Palm Warbler. The photo was taken Jan. 2022 in my yard. I corrected the listing and renamed it Prairie Warbler. The fact that I took the photo in January makes it uncommon to Mississippi for that time of year.
