Jew at Netroots Nation 2024 [1]

NN24 is next year. With the war between Hamas & Israel, and the rise of International Jew-hate, has left me wondering:

Will I be safe at next year’s NN24? Will I Have to hide my Jewish identity? or will I have to wear something that ids me as a Jew? Will I even be allowed to attend?

Am I catastrpohising? Perhaps. However, when Jewish students and business are targeted in roving kristallnachts and the Intifada craze amongst some, and realize that so-called Progressives never really had my back, when the UN decides that #MeToo doesn’t include the Israeli Jewish women who were raped on Oct 7, what else am I to think? When I was in 6th grade, I experienced Jew-hate from classmates both on and off campus. I was physically and verbally assaulted on campus, and faculty and principal did jack all. The house I lived in was vandalized w/swastikas. Oh, and this occurred in liberal California’s’ SF East Bay

What am I supposed to feel now? Safe? Secure? Protected? Blown off? be told I’m ‘overreacting’? I remember while at NN Detroit, and breaking down after the “say her name/Black Lives Matter” leader accused us all of being “white progressive supremacists” and then been laughed when I said I didn’t feel safe there any longer. Will there be panels on “decolonizing”?

Hate is hate is hate. and hate is an exhausting state to reside in.

Enquiring minds want to know.
