I just read another article of a euthanized animal whose digestive system was clogged and blocked with plastic. Imagine having your small intestines blocked with grocery bags and freezer bags.

A sick bear in Telluride, Colorado, was euthanized by authorities — and upon a necropsy, they discovered that the animal had suffered for months due to plastic waste blocking its digestive system.

It’s easy to understand why getting trash stuck in a digestive tract could cause serious health problems, as plastic materials block vital organs from performing their essential functions. “To be eating and eating and not able to break down any of that food would have been a really sad and horrific way for that bear to suffer as it died,” Livingston said. I will not say “Everybody cut down on plastics.!” You already know this. But did you know those surveys after you shop a store are very important to the companies involved. Each time you fill out a survey and let corporate know you would rather use reusable bags or paper bags it counts as much as ten people’s input. After a year or two they might pay attention. But you have to say NO MORE PLASTIC. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

A couple years ago a nearby town passed an ordinance banning plastic shopping bags. Now when you shop in that town, you get brown paper bags that can be reused as garden mulch, craft material, and safe toys for kids.

Below is another example of plastic pollution. Let’s help the animals.
