Covid vs Long Covid Questionnaire [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-12-11 I was somewhat amazed that my last Covid Update on Friday actually made it to the rec list (first time in over 500 entries?), and absolutely astounded that the poll question regarding current personal vaccination status garnered over 2000 responses! Likewise, the copious comments about surviving or even avoiding Covid altogether got me thinking about the Long Covid question still hanging over most of us. While this obviously won’t be a scientifically rigorous poll due to its self-selected nature, and the limitation of a single question format, I am interested in seeing if we can get a qualitative answer to the question of just what portion of our community has suffered or still suffers from Long Covid, and what the role of repeated reinfections may play in its development. For purposes of this poll, we’ll use the CDC definition for Long Covid of still experiencing symptoms at least a month or more after initially testing positive, particularly “brain fog” and excessive fatigue.
