[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2023-12-14 I have an eating eccentricity: I eat sequentially! I will eat one thing on my plate completely first, and then eat something else completely, and then the next until I finish my plate. The order doesn’t matter to me—but when I start eating something, I finish each item before going on to the next. And if something is mixed, like fruit salad, I completely eat the smallest first, then go on the next, and then the next, etc. For example, if I have a bowl of fresh pineapple chunks, strawberries, and blueberries, I eat all the blueberries first, then all the strawberries, and then the pineapple. However I don’t do this for books. I usually have several books that I am reading at the same time, and will switch between them at will or depending on my mood. But I do try to finish reading whatever books I have started (unless it is really totally boring or awful). So that means it may take me a little while longer to finish a book depending on how interesting it is and how many other books I have in my “currently reading” pile and how close I am to the end of each. That’s pretty much the eccentricities for me. Although I am also a retired experimental particle physicist and professor who loves science and math, and have subscriptions to “Physics Today” (being a member of the American Physical Society, APS), “Science” (being a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, AAAS), and “Scientific American”. So you may consider me a bit eccentric there as well. Other than what I have mentioned above, I am pretty well a normal guy (who is also married to a wonderful Colombian woman who is a retired History professor, so maybe that’s another absolutely wonderful oddity as well). So do you have any oddities or eccentricities you would care to share with us here? I am sure I am not alone in this. In fact being here at Daily Kos might also be considered an oddity (or a benefit) in itself to our community here. Thank You.
