So about SCOTUS and any 'decision' they may make about the 14th Amendment... [1]

Hear me out, here. I'm not a lawyer, but I sure can read - and according to the 14th Amendment itself, SCOTUS can't make a decision about the validity, the constitutional integrity or the scope of the 14th. It is literally what it says on the tin:

Two thirds of the House and Senate by vote

- are the only people that can decide on the fate of an insurrectionist. This is not 'innocent until proven guilty' this is not a state matter or court matter or even voting matter.

If someone attempts to over throw the government (and one would think, while in the OFFICE OF SAID GOVERNMENT) they are not eligible for office. The only exception is if the Congress restores that right to said confederate/seditionist/ insurrectionist.

I mean, K. Olbermann was right when he pointed out on Tuesday's Countdown that the framers of this Amendment did so with the highest offices in mind. No, the Presidency was not the office it is NOW, but c'mon - they would block seditionists from the highest government and just...forget about the Presidency?!

That's just stupid .

So no matter what the ...Court...decides, it doesn't matter.

As it isn't (according to the law), their decision to make.

Edit: Well, as I keep messing up my own replies to comments, I shall do what I likely should have done before posting this and head to bed (fair warning - do NOT post when you have been up 18 plus hours and think you have had an AhHa! moment. Not good.)

I have enjoyed educating myself though through the wisdom of some commenters and I thank you for giving me much to think about!
