Every year brings unexpected challenges. These challenges can come from many direction and take many forms, but there are a core set of preparations that can help us be ready for most of them. By preparing for the physical and administrative challenges that accompany disasters, we allow ourselves more space to address the social and emotional challenges that arise.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency has assembled an extensive list of resources for preparation on their “Make a Plan” website — I encourage everyone to look over that site and take any steps they can. Every little bit will help you and your neighbors get through whatever comes your way. Below is FEMA’s quick tips PSA:
