Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day: Diane Grendell [1]

Welcome to what is the 1270th original profile here at “Fanatical Republican Extremist of the Day”, where we’ll be profiling Diane Grendell, a former member of the Ohio House of Representatives from 2019-2022. In her brief legislative career, this former District Court Judge showed a great animosity towards transgender teens, voting for SB 187 and restrict student athletes to sports based on the gender of their birth, and going even harder as to co-sponsor HB 151, which in effect, created a process to begin genital inspections of those minors to enforce the former law. Y’know, sane stuff from a woman who also wanted to allow prayer in schools, like a former judge should know is clearly unconstitutional.



But it was debate over Covid-19 legislation that Diane Grendell came to this blog’s attention. Not just for her repeated attempts to give people mandated to take vaccines per terms of the employment an easier way to weasel out of doing so, not just once but twice…



No, it was clearly the day in February of 2021 that she defended her repeated actions to undo Covid-19 restrictions by citing that per sources (HER), only 7 people had died in Amish country, and thus they had “culled the herd” without any real restrictions. The Amish community were not on Twitter to react and tell her they were still fighting the good fight in the pandemic on account of they don’t use modern technology, of course, but she still said this horrific statement.



Grendell had already worn out her welcome with most of the Ohio GOP leading up to 2022, and opted not to run for re-election. We wish her our finest “GOOD RIDDANCE” season’s greetings at this time.
