When President Bill Clinton took office, the deficit had risen to hundreds of billions of dollars and the unemployment rate was 7.4 percent. When President Bill Clinton left office, the unemployment rate was 4.2 percent and the last 3 years of his second term we had a surplus. When President George W Bush left office, the deficit was $1 Trillion and the unemployment rate was 7.8% and on the strength of Bush's economic policy rose to 10%. When President Obama left office, the deficit was $600 Billion and the unemployment rate was 4.8%. When Donald Trump left office, he left a disaster. He had lied to the American people and essentially told them that COVID was a hoax, he didn't test widely, he argued against wearing a mask,been he left the deficit was $1.2 Trillion, and the unemployment rate was 6.3%. The unemployment rate is 3.7%. The rate of inflation over the last six months annualized is 1.9%.
