My 2023 online presence and Happy New Year! [1]

The first order of business is that this post marks my 65th. I began September 8th.

Signing on with The Daily Kos as a “Community” correspondent, was a no-brainer.

At the end of the day, year, actually, my experience has been a mostly favorable one. Add to this that I’ve enjoyed reading the so-far handful of online posts that I have.

As for my own on-site posting, so sad to report but it’s a mixed bag. Mistakes made were many, which required more than the normal amount of updates, well, what’s normal for me, anyway. I will try to do better. And, to a few of my posts, in response I got some harsh criticism. I accept that as coming with the territory, but I did learn from it.

Commenting, meanwhile, took me time to figure out. I ran into situations where when trying to comment, the page for whatever reason refreshed, and it was all I could do to then retrieve the incomplete text. I also had trouble inserting (embedding?) links in text. Many, many steps were went through before I achieved success. That was no doubt attributable to uploading info. from my mobile device and not from my computer. I can’t see it being anything else. A bright point? I achieved a first: I added my first tags.

In summation, in the little more than the 3 months that I’ve been posting and reading content at The Daily Kos, the experience has been a generally positive one. Oh, and, incidentally, I can now add the word “diarist” to the qualifications listed on my resume.

That all said, I most look forward to an even better new year! A Happy 2024 to you and yours!
