More than 80 women elected officials have been invited to “Change Makers: Elected Women Serving the Borderland” at the Judson F. Williams Convention Center in Downtown El Paso. The event will include a panel discussion featuring U.S. Rep. Veronica Escobar, D-El Paso, retired District Judge Linda Chew, and State Board of Education member Melissa Ortega. El Paso Matters assistant editor/reporter Cindy Ramirez will moderate the event. Tickets are $100 each. Table sponsorships are $1,000, with an elected official seated at each table. Tickets and sponsorships can be obtained through the El Paso Community Foundation. Proceeds from the event will benefit El Paso Matters, a nonprofit civic news organization, and Progress 321, a nonprofit organization that connects “emerging leaders with established trailblazers and fosters meaningful, actionable progress” in the region.
