Most APEC members condemn the war in Ukraine, echoing G20 leaders — Meduza [1] [] Date: 2022-11-19 At the recent APEC forum in Thailand, leaders of APEC countries adopted a final declaration which, among other things, mentions the war in Ukraine. The declaration states that most member nations “strongly condemned the war in Ukraine and stressed it is causing immense human suffering and exacerbating existing fragilities in the global economy,” however the document noted the existence of “different views and different assessments of the situation and the sanctions.” The text of the declaration also notes that in March, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution which “deplores in the strongest terms the aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine and demands its complete and unconditional withdrawal from the territory of Ukraine.” Follow Meduza in English on Twitter to stay up to date.
