Authorities blame hackers after ‘missile strike threat’ warnings take over Russian airwaves for second time in six days — Meduza [1] [] Date: 2023-02-28 TV and radio broadcasts in multiple Russian regions were interrupted by messages warning of impending missile strikes on Tuesday morning. On several TV channels and radio stations in the Moscow region, Voronezh, Belgorod, and the Leningrad region, the sound of a siren could be heard along with a voice saying, “Attention: an air raid alert is in effect. Proceed to shelters immediately. Attention, attention, missile strike threat.” Russia’s Emergency Services Ministry reported that the messages were the result of a hacking attack. A similar incident occurred on February 22, when radio stations in regions throughout Russia played an air raid warning and the sound of sirens. Then, too, the Emergency Services Ministry blamed hackers.
