Ukraine’s parliament sends bill on amending mobilization rules back to Cabinet of Ministers for revision — Meduza [1] [] Date: 2024-01-11 Ukraine's parliament, the Verkhovna Rada, sent a bill on amending the rules for mobilization back to Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers for revision, said parliament member Davyd Arakhamia, leader of the Servant of the People faction. According to him, the decision was made following a closed meeting attended by Ukraine’s military command and Verkhovna Rada leadership. Arakhamia wrote about the meeting on his Telegram channel: There were a lot of discussions. We understand the request of the military command and are ready to accommodate their concerns. However, not all provisions can be supported. Some provisions directly violate human rights, while others are not optimally formulated. We openly conveyed this to the military command. But all political factions understood and support the need for mobilization. The bill on mobilization was introduced to the Verkhovna Rada on December 25, 2023. Among other things, it proposes lowering the minimum draft age to 25 years, sending electronic draft notices, and imposing restrictions on draft dodgers.
