PepsiCo reportedly prohibits mention of war or support for Ukrainian army in its advertising in Ukraine — Meduza [1] [] Date: 2024-01-14 PepsiCo’s advertising strategy in Ukraine prohibits mentioning the war or support for the Ukrainian army, reports B4Ukraine, which tracks the presence of international businesses in Russia following Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. B4Ukraine referenced a brief the company wrote in the fall of 2023 when searching for a new advertising and PR agency in Ukraine. B4Ukraine reached out to Pepsi offices in Ukraine and the U.S. for comment but has yet to hear back. In September 2023, Ukraine's National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) added PepsiCo to its list of international “war sponsors.” According to the NACP website, PepsiCo promised to cease beverage production in Russia after the start of the full-scale war but did not follow through. The NACP also said that Lay’s chips, which are produced by PepsiCo, have been found in Russian soldiers’ food rations.
