Russia and Belarus to create joint state media company — Meduza [1]

Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko have signed a decree to create a joint state media company for Russia and Belarus, reports RIA Novosti.

Maksut Shadaev, the head of Russia’s Digital Development Ministry, said that the media holding would incorporate existing outlets: two newspapers, a magazine, and a television channel, all of which will follow a “unified, coordinated policy.”

At the same time, Shadaev also noted the possibility of “creating a media holding from scratch.”
