NATO Assistant Secretary General for Executive Management Discusses Executive Transformation, Professional Development Programming, Alliance-Wide Management Strategy with General Lavigne :: NATO's ACT [1] [] Date: 2023-03 NORFOLK, VA – General Lavigne hosted NATO Assistant Secretary General for Executive Management, Carlo M. Borghini, on March 20th, 2023, as part of the annual NATO-wide Executive Development Programme visit to NATO's Allied Command Transformation. The NATO Executive Development Programme is a professional leadership programme that builds and develops a network of talented international civil servants across the Alliance. Mr. Carlo M. Borghini and participants from the NATO Executive Development Programme visited Norfolk, Virginia, NATO’s home in North America, discussing strategies for growth, development, and professional education. This visit is one of the five residential modules each cohort goes through during the yearlong program. General Lavigne welcomed Mr. Borghini and the NATO Executive Development Programme cohort and shared Transformation Challenges carried out by Allied Command Transformation. The NATO Executive Development Programme is a prestigious professional development program, run together with NATO’s academic provider, HULT Ashridge Executive Education. The NATO Executive Development Programme provides strategic-level management courses on political, military, leadership and diplomatic subjects to high-performing civilians from across the NATO enterprise. The "NATO Executive Development Programme 14" is the 2022-2023 cohort; during their Allied Command Transformation Module, they focused on “Transformational NATO.” The weeklong visit blended academic classes, immersive sessions and Allied Command Transformation briefs on warfare development, cognitive superiority, multi-domain operations and innovation. It was additionally enhanced with a roundtable discussion with ACT Chief of Staff and Digital Transformation Champion, offering the Cohort a valuable insights in the Alliance-wide transformation and development priorities of Allied Command Transformation, which functions as NATO’s Warfare Development Command. Mr. Borghini serves as the Secretary General’s primary advisor on NATO-wide management issues and started his role as the Assistant Secretary General of Executive Management on March 1st, 2023. He addressed the The NATO Executive Development Programme 14 cohort: “The NATO Executive Development Programme is a learning experience that fosters the ‘One-NATO culture’ of trust, openness, resilience, and engagement which will be even more strengthened through this module hosted at Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation.” The NATO Executive Development Programme emphasizes building and developing networks across the Alliance and self-improvement, while also focusing on NATO specific knowledge and priorities such as Digital Transformation.
