NATO's air surveillance and control unit - deployed and ready to start the mission [1] [] Date: 2023-06 May 31 2023 NATO's air surveillance and control unit - deployed and ready to start the mission After a 1200 km road move, the road convoy transporting NATO's deployable air surveillance and control unit – DARS – arrived at Erndtebrück, Germany, some 100 km east of Cologne. The team of the Deployable Command and Control Centre (DACCC) set up the containerised command post and established an initial capability to operate. After completing further bed-down the unit will begin to integrate their systems and connect them into NATO's Integrated Air and Missile Defence architecture. Froom June 12 on, the DARS team will be ready to support German-led exercise Air Defender 2023 with from June 12 on.
