Joint All Domain Command and Control and Multi-Domain Operations [1] ['Brian Sostak'] Date: 2023-07-19 18:35:33+00:00 ALEXANDRIA, VA – Vice Admiral Guy Robinson, Chief of Staff at NATO Allied Command Transformation, provided insights on NATO Allied Command Transformation as NATO’s Strategic Warfare Development Command. Topics included Multi-Domain Operations, Digital Transformation, and additional discussions on the importance of joint operations within the Alliance. On July 18th and 19th, the National Defense Industrial Association hosted a Combined/Joint All Domain Command and Control Symposium, focusing on the importance of identifying, organizing, and delivering Joint Force Command and Control capabilities. Effective command and control is essential, as NATO integrates more Multi-Domain Operations throughout the Alliance’s Military Instrument of Power, which includes synchronized military activities across all domains and environments organized throughout multinational joint forces. NATO Allied Command Transformation helps transform military forces to enable Multi-Domain Operations, anticipating the changing landscapes of today and tomorrow. The Symposium was opened by the President of the National Defense Industry Association, the Honourable David Norquist, who highlighted advantages that the US have in comparison to near-peer competitors: “a wide network of Allies and partners and an innovative industrial base.” The Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Admiral Christopher Grady delivered his keynote on “Pivoting JADC2 towards requirements for Combatant Commanders,” and also stressed the importance of integration of Allies and partners and highlighted NATO’s Federated Mission Networking as the vehicle to bring partners into CJADC2. Vice Admiral Guy Robinson, Chief of Staff at NATO Allied Command Transformation, provided insights during a question and answer session on “NATO as an MDO-enabled Alliance.” Following NATO’s Summit and the meeting of Heads of State and Government in Vilnius, NATO has “agreed on significant measures to further enhance NATO’s deterrence and defence posture in all domains.” Specifically, to “continue our work on multi-domain operations, enabled by NATO’s Digital Transformation, which further drives our military and technological advantage, strengthening the Alliance’s ability to operate decisively across the land, air, maritime, cyberspace and space domains.” [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.act.nato.int/article/joint-all-domain-c2-and-mdo/ Published and (C) by NATO Content appears here under this condition or license: in acordance with "Requirements for the external use of NATO content.". via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/nato/
