Voter registration, other general election deadlines coming soon [1] ['Susan Tebben', 'More From Author', '- October'] Date: 2023-10 Summer is over, and the Nov. 7 general election is coming soon. Even sooner are the deadlines for voters to register and absentee ballots to be sent out. Though the election does not include the governor or the president, Ohioans will take their side of two polarizing issues this time around: a marijuana legalization law and an amendment to the Ohio Constitution to include the right to reproductive health decisions including abortion, contraception, and miscarriage care. The deadline for Ohioans to register to vote or update their registration is Oct. 10. Oct. 10 is also the deadline to file corrections and challenges to precinct voter registration lists, which could come into play across the state as new Statehouse districts were adopted last week by the Ohio Redistricting Commission. Early voting begins on Oct. 11, and lasts until Nov. 5 at county boards of election across the state. For those who can’t make it to the precincts, absentee ballots must be requested at least seven days before the election, with a deadline of Oct. 31. Absentee ballots must be received by the boards of election by close of polls on Election Day, Nov. 7. Polls are open on Election Day from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. [END] --- [1] Url: https://ohiocapitaljournal.com/briefs/voter-registration-other-general-election-deadlines-coming-soon/ Published and (C) by Ohio Capital Journal Content appears here under this condition or license: Creative Commons license CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/ohiocapitaljournal/
