About the Williams Centre for Learning Advancement (WLCA) The WCLA was established in 2015 to nurture academic development in teaching and learning in the Faculty. Previously a teaching and learning support centre (from 1997), it was the first such embedded centre in a Business Faculty in Australia and has become the model for similar units in other universities in Australia and worldwide. The WCLA has been successful in obtaining numerous external and internal teaching related grants. It has a strong research culture. Academic staff in the Centre have published in key education journals. WCLA works to assist staff with all aspects of teaching including curriculum design, development and review, pedagogy, teaching skills, assessment practices and evaluation, assurance of learning and the preparation of teaching portfolios for promotion purposes. The Centre also works closely with units and centres across the university to ensure it is up to date with developments in the university and delivery of innovative programs in higher education. About the Role The Williams Centre for Learning Advancement (WCLA) focuses on developing the learning associated with a shift towards new teaching pedagogy for our staff. This position will ensure the efficient day to day administrative operations of the WCLA office and provide high level support to the Director, WCLA on a wide range of administrative matters. This position will also coordinate and administer a range of programs and events for the Centre. In a typical week at work, you may: Provide a high level of administrative support, ensuring the delivery of prompt and quality service for the WCLA Undertake executive officer duties for various committees and meetings (i.e. staff meetings, Grant Committees, and so forth) as requested by the Director WCLA Monitor the financial and physical resources for the WCLA office, including the administration of iProcurement and iExpense requests, and the administration of human resource related requests About You You will be adept at working independently, in addition to being an effective part of a broader team. Your highly developed time management and prioritisation skills coupled with creative problem solving abilities will ensure competing deadlines are met with high consistent high quality outputs. You will have a commitment to providing efficient and effective customer service.
