Employment Type: Casual Location: Flexible Salary rate: Casual Academic Rates Apply The role: We are seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from highly motivated sessional staff to teach into our newly-developed sequence of Employability units, which will be embedded into the Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Communication and Creative Arts course suites at Deakin from 2023. Designed to enhance student and graduate employability and ready students for their post-study futures, the units offer scaffolded career development learning and skills-building, as well as work integrated learning experiences, for students from across the Humanities, Arts, Social Sciences, Communication and Creative Arts. To be successful you'll have: Relevant degree Understanding of relevant subject content and skills demonstrated by academic achievement and/or professional experience Excellent teaching skills and commitment to providing timely and constructive feedback on student assignments or capacity to develop teaching skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively with others Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with students and staff AQF Level Guide: To teach units in: A Bachelor degree you must have an Honours degree, Graduate Certificate, Graduate Diploma or above (or equivalent experience) An Honours degree, Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma you must have a Masters degree or above (or equivalent experience) A Masters degree, you must have a Doctoral degree (or equivalent experience) Your key responsibilities will be to: Make an important contribution to the Employability unit(s) for which you are engaged Prepare and conduct seminars, consult with students, undertake assessment, engage with industry and community, and attend meetings as required by the Unit Chair To apply for this position, please upload a Resume, Cover letter (1 page) and Extra Information (no more than 1 page).
