Federation University has established the new role of Chief Operations Officer (COO), reporting directly to the Vice-Chancellor. The COO will lead the shaping and implementation of the University’s vision and strategies for Digital Architecture, Campus Vision and People.

About the role: The COO will be responsible for overseeing significant digital transformation and modern business systems. This role will help enable a digital first approach and culture and provide the infrastructure and support to deliver the first Australian University co-operative model of education and engagement. The COO provides overall strategic leadership and operational accountability across the University for digital transformation, infrastructure and campus vision, people and culture, legal and risk management, and the program management office. Critical to success will be the ability to influence and form close working relationships with Academic and non-Academic leaders across the University’s three Academic Institutes.

High Quality Candidates: High quality candidates will have a demonstrable track record in shaping and implementing a significant transformation agenda in a complex organisational environment. They will have strategic, digital and commercial acumen and a strong grasp of the business functions that are part of the COO’s portfolio. They will have working knowledge of data analysis and business performance metrics. Key to their effectiveness will be their ability to influence and develop strong and impactful working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
