Believe our “justice” system is working? Think again. [1]

I know this is hard to hear. It’s heartbreaking to write.

If you think that Trump’s felony convictions mean our “justice” system works, please think again. Take a good hard look at the Supreme Court, where MAGA loyalists actively work to protect criminals like Donald. Openly displaying their obvious bias as they warp the meaning of our Constitution - and strip away our rights. Look at Florida, where a corrupt Judge has indefinitely postponed accountability for a treasonous criminal. Ask Jack Smith if his J6 investigation is even close to its logical conclusion. Or if trumps multitude of co-conspirators throughout our legislature will ever be held responsible for their actions. Question our women or LGBTQ+ community how they feel about the outright brutal attacks on their human rights. Or, ask those of color, oppressed racially, economically and educationally for two centuries, their thoughts on “justice”.

Do you really believe Trump will receive the sentence(s) he deserves, for any of his multiple crimes? Or that his felony convictions will stop his reign of terror? Trumps greatest crimes remain unpunished, after years of denial, delay and political posturing. God only knows whether Trump will ever face justice for these blatant lawless acts - which would have placed you or I behind bars instantly.

As we draw nearer to our November election which will decide the fate of our nation and indeed the entire world, please remember that we have been pushed to the very edge of a catastrophic precipice by those who, like Trump himself, have denied the importance of accountability, placing political power before our rule of law. Manipulating our justice system for personal gain and preserving control for the rich and powerful.

The only “justice” to be found in the “United States of America”? That which we make for ourselves.

I continue to hold hope that sanity will once again return to our nation. That the true ideals we cherish can once again be brought back to the fore. That the diminishment of truth itself can be abated. But I can no longer deny our reality. Far too few are willing to stand for the very things which once made our nation a beacon of hope and freedom. Our collective dedication to our core values has been replaced by the selfish desire to let others “take care of it” for us. We should have been marching in the streets after J6. instead, in our misguided apathy and privileged complacency, we are led like sheep to the slaughter.

November will tell the tale, and seal the destiny, for better or worse of the USA.
