Pro-Trump thugs are trying to doxx jurors [1]

There has been a lot of talk from legal talking heads that when Trump is sentenced in July on New York state charges of falsifying his business records to hide hush money payments to Stormy Daniels, he will most likely get probation since he’s a first-time offender. But how many first-time offenders intimidate witnesses to the degree he has? Or attack the judge and court workers? Or accumulate at least 10, and possibly 11, contempt charges for not shutting his big mouth? Somehow probation doesn’t seem like enough.

Well, on Friday afternoon, NBC News offered more proof of why probation isn’t nearly enough. In the hours after Trump was convicted, his diehards—or more accurately, brownshirts—have gone as far as to attempt to doxx the jurors. Nonprofit public interest research firm Advance Democracy flagged several posts on pro-Trump platforms targeting jurors.

“Dox the Jurors. Dox them now,” one user wrote after Trump’s conviction on a website formerly known as “The Donald,” which was popular among participants in the Capitol attack. (That post appears to have been quickly removed by moderators.) “We need to identify each juror. Then make them miserable. Maybe even suicidal,” wrote another user on the same forum. “1,000,000 men (armed) need to go to washington and hang everyone. That’s the only solution,” wrote another user. “This s--- is out of control.” “I hope every juror is doxxed and they pay for what they have done,” another user wrote on Trump’s Truth Social platform Thursday. “May God strike them dead. We will on November 5th and they will pay!”

There was a significant uptick in threats against Judge Juan Merchan and Manhattan DA Alvin Bragg. That in and of itself amounts to domestic terrorism of the worst type. But that was to be expected, knowing what we know about Trumpers. Doxxing 12 ordinary people is another thing altogether. It also says a lot about the mentality of Patriots.win—the new name for TheDonald—and Truth Social that these posts were even allowed to be made.

The threats against Merchan and Bragg would have been enough by themselves to demand that Merchan haul Trump in on Monday and order him to call a halt to it. But if Trump's diehards are threatening jurors, Merchan would be grossly derelict not to order Trump to shut this down. This is fundamentally undemocratic behavior that has no place in any civilized society. And they wonder why we call them deplorable.
