The SIMILARITIES between communism and laissez-faire capitalism [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-02 Under communism, you have limited choices in products you can buy. Under laissez-faire capitalism, you may have the illusion of wide choices but you really don’t. (Grocery store shelves today appear to be stocked with a wide variety of brands, but many of those “brands” are actually owned by a small number of big companies.) In my humble opinion, the best system is regulated capitalism. When regulations are in place to put limits on buyouts and mergers, the various companies remain in competition with each other, resulting in more real choices for customers. I don’t claim to be an expert; so if you disagree with me, please state your case in the comments and I will read all comments with an open mind.
