That’s easy. Critters had been laying eggs long before chickens evolved.

LONG before.

Egg laying is a reproductive strategy from when everything lived in the water,

frog eggs

to reptiles

and insects

and then to birds

and our favorite breakfast foods.

A gentle reminder of how we do things: 🐱🐶🐦
