William Spaniel is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh. He is perhaps best known for his “lines on maps” videos and running an absolutely TOP TIER YouTube channel: (www.youtube.com/… ) which focuses on game theory, war, and in the last two years most especially, videos about Ukraine, Russia, and the global effects of geopolitical developments. The videos are easy to understand, clearly paced and without a bunch of filler music and other junk which has become a hallmark of many videos today.

For all the Ukraine War aficionados who follow all the diaries and developments, I cannot recommend his channel enough.

The video I’d like to bring you today concerns the recent developments in the UA/RU war, and their effects on gas. There has been recent writing on this site and elsewhere, which concerned analysis about US and other allies’ restrictions on weapons use outside of Ukraine, and specifically Russia. A key argument that was articulated was that these restrictions were due to fear about a destabilized oil market and domestic gas prices in the US. This couldn't be further from the truth:
