[I/P] [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-06-06 I subscribe to Haaretz, [it’s only $14/ Month] For a second I thought it was publicity for something stranger, thankfully, it was not, The title of the email: They live on a far-off planet. But unfortunately for Israel, they're in charge. Hmm Oh They live on a far-off planet. But unfortunately for Israel, they're in charge By Rachel Fink Haaretz Increasingly, it would seem the members of Netanyahu's coalition are living on some far-off planet: One where no adult in charge is ever wrong, saying things causes them to be true, and ignoring problems makes them go away They say bad news comes in threes. ~snip It began with Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich's interview on Israeli public broadcaster Kan. "The October 7 massacre has nothing to do with me," declared the MK who was, in fact, a member of the ruling government when the Hamas attacks took place and who, back in October, told a room full of journalists : "I take responsibility for what was and what will be. We have to admit with pain and with a bowed head — we failed. The country's leadership and the security system have failed in maintaining the security of our residents." Next came Likud MK Tally Gotliv. Yesterday, it was announced that Gotliv would be subject to a criminal investigation based on suspicions that she illegally disclosed classified information in social posts that identified the partner of protest leader Shikma Bressler as a Shin Bet agent. Apparently under the mistaken impression that these things are voluntary, Gotliv immediately announced that she had no intention of showing up for any such investigation. Nevermind that her claims of political immunity would require special permission from a committee appointed by the Knesset who would need to justify her claim of immunity. The "I know you are, but what am I" defense might work too. And then there was the icing on the let-them-eat cake. During an interview on Radio Kol Chai, Transportation Minister Miri Regev was asked about the government's treatment of citizens who have been forced to evacuate their homes in the north and south. "This government has done amazing things this year. Amazing things," claimed Regev in what turned out to be a very Trump-esque monologue. "So many people are in hotels, everything is financed by the government. The reconstruction of the north, the reconstruction of the south… We should say, 'Thank God.'" As I suspected all along!!! It is an alien-created disease, the one question is: have we found patient zero? Is it the Felon? Nah. It has been around since the dinosaurs. Oh my, did aliens kill the dinosaurs? Back to reality I do love snark A morning muse ~A [END] --- [1] Url: https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2024/6/6/2245088/-In-My-Inbox-Today-Aliens-I-P?pm_campaign=front_page&pm_source=more_community&pm_medium=web Published and (C) by Daily Kos Content appears here under this condition or license: Site content may be used for any purpose without permission unless otherwise specified. via Magical.Fish Gopher News Feeds: gopher://magical.fish/1/feeds/news/dailykos/
