Jim Jordan turned his back on Ohio!! [1]

“Jim Jordan called me crying, crying, groveling, on the Fourth of July … begging me to go against my brother, begging me, crying for half an hour. That’s the kind of cover-up that’s going on here. He’s a coward. He’s a coward.” Adam DiSabato testified at a hearing about OSU sex scandal.

Before Jim Jordan was a Representative of Ohio District 4, he was an assistant wrestling coach at OSU. Adam DiSabato and his brother were two of many wrestlers that were caught up in the sexual abuse scandal involving team doctor, Dr. Strauss. Jim has denied knowing anything about it, but many wrestlers have come forward to condemn him for looking the other way.

A former OSU wrestler Rocky Ratliff said Jordan “abandoned his former wrestlers in the Ohio State sexual abuse scandal and cover-up”.

“If early on he jumped in on our side and validated what we were saying, what everybody knew about what Dr Strauss was doing to us, then this wouldn’t be happening. But he decided early on, for reasons I still don’t understand, that he was going to deny knowing anything about this.” Mike Schyck said in an NBC interview.

Like Schyck, Ratliff, and DiSabato, all the wrestlers who Jordan coached feel abandoned, betrayed, confused, angry, hurt, shocked, and scarred. Jordan was trusted to watch over these young men as a coach and a mentor. They looked to Jordan for guidance, but he abandoned them when they needed him most. He turned a blind eye to the sexual abuse that Dr. Strauss did to these innocent young men. To make matters even worse, Jordan has denied knowing anything about the abuse when asked time and time again by reporters and colleagues.

How can we trust this man to Represent Ohio when he couldn’t represent the well being of these young men on his team at OSU? How do we trust a man who has lied over and over again about his knowledge of the sexual abuse conducted under his watch? How do we trust a man who turns away when he sees a horrible injustice being done?

This is a man we look to representative not just us but our children, our loved ones, and close friends. We can no longer allow Jim Jordan to sit in such an honored seat in our Government. This is why we need Tammie Wilson. She will bring back respect, decency, and justice back to Ohio! Tell Jim Jordan we want better for our state and our families!! We need to support Tammie Wilson this November.
